Born in the bustling port city of Rotterdam, Marcel Bakker’s journey began amidst the concrete and steel of urban life. Yet, his heart was always drawn to the vastness and serenity of nature. As a young man, he found himself captivated by the landscapes of Tennessee, where he spent a significant portion of his life. The rolling hills, the vibrant forests, and the tranquil lakes of the American South became a second home.

However, even as he embraced the beauty of Tennessee, Marcel never lost his sense of being a citizen of the world. His travels have taken him to countless corners of the globe, from the rugged mountains of Asia to the serene beaches of Nice and Cannes. Each new place has left its mark on him, enriching his perspective and deepening his appreciation for the diversity of our planet.

As a landscape photographer, Marcel’s lens captures the essence of nature’s grandeur. Whether he’s framing a majestic mountain range or capturing the delicate details of a flower, his work is a testament to his love of the natural world. Today, Marcel calls Sint Pancras in the Netherlands home. Yet, his spirit remains as adventurous as ever.
